By using Gloss you agree to these terms. Gloss is provided by NYRAI LLC ("we", "us"). If you do not agree, do not use the app.
We grant you a personal, non-transferable license to use Gloss on devices you own or control, subject to the App Store Terms of Service (Apple's standard EULA), which applies to this app.
Gloss opens DRM-free content you supply — EPUB and PDF files you import, plain-text and Markdown notes you create or paste, and public web articles you save — including public-domain titles from sources such as Project Gutenberg and Standard Ebooks. Gloss does not open, decrypt, or circumvent DRM-protected content, including Kindle or Apple Books files. You are responsible for having the right to read and annotate any file, note, or article you import.
Margin notes are generated by AI and presented in an interpreted "author voice." They are not written by the real author, may be inaccurate or incomplete, and are provided for reflection and study — not as factual, legal, medical, or professional advice. Do not rely on them as authoritative.
Reading is free. Gloss Unlimited is an auto-renewable subscription ($5.99/month or $49.99/year) that unlocks unlimited author glosses beyond the free lifetime allowance of 10 glosses. Payment is charged to your Apple Account. Subscriptions renew automatically unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the period ends; manage or cancel anytime in your Apple Account settings.
Do not misuse the service, attempt to circumvent usage limits, or use Gloss to infringe others' rights.
Gloss is provided "as is" without warranties. To the fullest extent permitted by law, NYRAI LLC is not liable for any indirect or consequential damages arising from your use of the app or reliance on AI-generated content.
We may update these terms; continued use after changes constitutes acceptance.
